How we started
The story of MICC Chapel of Light began with the missionary journey of its founders, Rev. Dr. Peter and Pastor Mrs. Theodora Adegbie. Their path started in Kampala, Uganda, in 1996, but a pivotal prophetic word in 1997 and a clear divine call in November 2002 redirected their mission to the North of England. After months of dedicated prayer and preparation, they established the church in Sunderland with a vision to raise "agents of change" for Jesus Christ. Today, the chapel stands as a vibrant community dedicated to helping individuals maximize their potential and grow in Christlikeness, rooted in a commitment to serve both God and humanity.

Creating Lasting Change
Over 500 students have passed through our Leadership school, we have organised many conferences including Social Care and You, In His Presence Conferences, Entrepreneurship and Financial training and Leadership Empowerment training. We send aid to different parts of the world through Christian Aid, Red Cross and Oxfam in times of emergency need.
We have from inception maintained an open house on Christmas days serving Christmas roast and world food ensuring that no one needs to be lonely during the festive season with lots of games, fun, friendship, music and gifts.
We are a member of the Evangelistic Alliance, UK, Churches together Sunderland and affiliated to the Apostolic Church, UK
